Tony Lit awarded MBE in New Years Honours list

Sunrise Radio Managing Director, Tony Lit (Surinderpal Singh) has been awarded an MBE.

Lit was acknowledged for his work in the British-Asian community over past 20 years in the media.

Talking to BizAsiaLive.com, Lit said, “I have been overwhelmed with the good wishes and congratulations I have received over the past 12 hours since the honours list was published from all over the UK and overseas. Friends new and old have sent messages which have been very touching. At these moments I always take a step back and reflect on life and am so grateful for the opportunities I have had over the years in the media industry. I would like to thank my close family and friends for there unwavering support at all times good and bad.”

Extending his gratitude upon being named in the list, Lit added, “I would also like to thank three people within our industry who have been influential in my success Avtar Lit, my father and founder of Sunrise Radio. Gurdev Jassi, the Sunrise Radio Chairman, who over the past five years has been a constant tower of strength for me. And my dear friend and colleague Neeraj Arora, EVP Sony Pictures Networks UK, someone I admire greatly look up to as a professional and a person. My colleagues at Sunrise Radio have been immense and have all ways brought into and supported the values of Sunrise Radio and what we do day in day out this award is as much theirs as it is mine and of course our wonderful loyal listeners.
