Saif Ali Khan Birthday Love: Saif as the dancer

In the 90s this actor had a style unlike any other actor at the time with his long hair and polished look. He was known to do romantic, comedies but over the years he managed to experiment with the type of roles that he did be it the villain in ‘Omkara’ (2006) or a man with revenge on his mind in ‘Race 2’ (2013).

The actor we are talking about is none other than Saif Ali Khan who has proved time and time again that no role is too difficult for him. On the occasion of his birthday BizAsiaLive.com will look at five songs from the 90s that saw Khan dance like never before.

‘Main Hoon Aashiq’ from ‘Aashik Aawara’ (1993)
Although Mamta Kulkarni was accompanying Khan in this song, it has to be said that Khan stole all the limelight. His comedy timing and neat dance steps kept the audience entertained from start to finish. It was the start of the charming young Nawab in the world of Indian cinema. Although the film might not have done much at the box office this song was loved by many. Even today many class this as a great song picturised on Khan.

Of course without the music makers this song wouldn’t have been what it is today. Laxmikant Pyarelal created the energetic music and Udit Narayan sang for Khan.

‘Ole Ole’ from ‘Yeh Dillagi’ (1994)
If there is one song that Khan is remembered for and will forever be remembered for in years to come then that is ‘ole ole’. Who can forget Khan’s iconic look with his black leather jacket, black pants and his long hair gelled back. The dashing young Khan was surrounded by beauties around him yet the audience can’t seem to keep their eyes off Khan in the song.

Abhijeet’s vocals fit perfectly on Khan that it almost seems like Khan was singing himself. The music was by Dilip Sen and Sameer Sen while Sameer wrote the lyrics.

In 2020 this song made a comeback with a fresh remake in the film ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’. Luckily the song featured the original star Khan in it but as they say original is original. The fans of the 90s may argue about which version they prefer but one thing everyone can definitely agree on is that when one thinks of this song Khan always comes to mind.

‘Kaali Aankhon Wali’ from ‘Surakshaa’ (1995)
Listening to this song one instantly gets that 90s feel thanks to that fast paced beat. Kumar Sanu sang for Khan with Anu Malik adding his unique touch with the music. Sanu has to be praised for the way he sung the song. There was so much energy in his vocals that not only Khan anyone who heard this song would surely start dancing.

The song was filmed on both Monica Bedi and Khan who are seen performing with many backing dancers. Together they danced exceptionally well especially with how fast the song was.

‘Yeh Gore Gore Gaal Tere Kis Ke Liye Hai’ from ‘Dil Tera Diwana’ (1996)
This is another song that remains a favourite of many thanks to Khan’s energetic performance. If there were doubts about Khan being a good dancer then surely one should watch this song. Khan danced extremely well on this fast paced number matching every beat perfectly. Singing for Khan was Udit Narayan with the music composed by Aadesh Shrivastava.

Khan stood out from the crowd in this song with his long flowy hair, brown outfit and his boyish charms. Set on a college campus Twinkle Khanna can be seen entering the college when Khan can’t help but try to impress the girl.

‘Line Marle Re Baba’ from ‘Humse Badhkar Kaun’ (1998)
This is a song that perhaps not many may know of but deserves a mention for the way Khan performed on it. As soon as Khan appears on screen all eyes are on him, such is his appeal. For this song there was no leading lady alongside Khan but to accompany him were his group of backing dancers who can be seen in some interesting outfits.

Again Udit Narayan was chosen to sing for Khan and rightly so as it is hard to imagine anyone else singing for Khan in this song. Viju Shah composed the song making it upbeat but at the same time adding that desi touch to it with traditional sounds.

The team at BizAsiaLive.com wishes Saif Ali Khan a very happy birthday!
