DD National to premiere ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ before ZEE Cinema

DD National has acquired the first television rights to the Bollywood blockbuster ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ before any other satellite broadcast.

The film starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar released in August and proved a huge hit at the box office. It supports Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign, to clean up India.

‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ focuses on reducing open defecation in public areas in particularly rural areas of India. The theme’s backdrop is the reason why the film is being aired on the state broadcaster first. It will air on Sunday 17th September at 10:30.

The film will then broadcast on ZEE Cinema, which owns the satellite TV rights. A telecast date has yet to be confirmed.
