Birthday Love: Salman Khan and five 90’s actresses we’d love to see him work with again

Over the years Salman Khan has worked with many talented actresses such as Tabu, Raveena Tandon, Sonali Bendre and many more. Some were lucky to start their careers with him while some gave their biggest hits working alongside him. Whatever the case maybe it has to be said that some iconic work was produced and some popular pairings were created.

With the 27th December arrives the birthday of Salman Khan who no doubt will be celebrating his special day with the love and support of all his fans. On this occasion BizAsiaLive.com will take a look at some of the 90’s actresses Khan has worked with and we’d love to see him work with again.

Salman Khan & Kajol in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’

Kajol
Khan and Kajol have worked in around three films together but the one the fans remember them the most for is ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998). Khan had a special appearance in the film but he ended up walking away with all the praise. His character Aman was madly in love with Anjali (Kajol) while she was in love with Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan). Khan’s character sacrifices his love so that the girl he loves can have a happy ending. After 25 years, fans of this film felt that Anjali made a big mistake by choosing Rahul over Aman.

Their fans didn’t have to stay disappointed for too long as both Kajol and Khan were seen together in the romantic, comedy drama ‘Pyaaar Kiya To Darna Kya’ (1998). The film did quite well at the box office and the music was very popular. Even Kajol and Khan’s pairing looked good on screen. It would be great to see the two paired opposite one another in another project but whether this ever happens is something their fans will have to wait and see.

Karisma Kapoor & Salman Khan in ‘Biwi No.1’

Karisma Kapoor
The pairing of Kapoor and Khan is one that fans eagerly wait for even today. They were one of the greatest jodis during the 90s who shared a chemistry like no other. They looked great together and their comedy timing was even better. Their films ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ (1994), ‘Judwaa’ (1997) and ‘Biwi No 1’ (1999) were loved by the audiences. They have worked in so many films together that it would be difficult to mention them all but the audience did love their work. Not only this they had many iconic songs picturised on them like ‘yeh raat aur yeh doori’ from ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ to ‘pyar dilon ka mela hai’ from ‘Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge’ (2000).

Their fans hope that one day they will get to see the two reunite on the big screen one day.

Madhuri Dixit Nene & Salman Khan in ‘Saajan’

Madhuri Dixit Nene
A magical pairing that lights up the screen whenever the two are together. Where does one begin with the pairing of Dixit Nene and Khan as the two have done some heart warming films over the years. The journey of their iconic jodi began in the year 1991 with the love triangle ‘Saajan’. They were a fresh pairing but boy did they create magic with their performances. Who can forget the song ‘dekha hai pehli baar saajan ki aankhon mein pyar’, the song became a rage all over India and around the world. Another film of theirs that is remembered by their fans even today is ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’ (1994). Their character’s Prem (Khan) and Nisha (Dixit Nene) were mischievous but at the same time had an innocence about them. The audience loved their interaction on screen be it them flirting with one another or their sweet gestures to show they care.

It has been some years since the two have worked together but there is no doubt that with the right project that magic could be created once again.

Salman Khan & Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji
Oddly whenever Mukerji and Khan have worked together, most of their films have been love triangles. ‘Hello Brother’ (1999), ‘Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega’ (2000) to ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’ (2001) many of these films consisted of a love triangle. However that doesn’t take away the fact that the two had great chemistry together. Songs like ‘har dil jo pyar karega’, ‘dekhne walon ne kya kya nahin dekha hoga’ and ‘teri chunariya’ are proof of this. Not only did they have such popular songs filmed on them but they made those songs memorable because of how they performed on them.

It would be interesting to see the two team up again in another project but with just the two of them, that way their fans could see more of them.

‘Khamoshi’ featuring Manisha Koirala & Salman Khan

Manisha Koirala
Koirala may be a name that doesn’t come to mind when talking about Khan but during the 90s the two had starred in a number of films together. The films they worked in were mostly romantic dramas like ‘Sangdil Sanam’ (1994) and ‘Majhdaar’ (1996). The film ‘Khamoshi: The Musical’ (1996) saw them in another romantic drama but it was unlike anything they had worked in before. Another thing the three films had in common was that they didn’t do much at the box office even the much anticipated ‘Khamoshi: The Musical’ turned out to be a big disappointment at the time. However over the years the film has received a lot of appreciation with Khan and Koirala being praised for their performances.

It’s true that their films failed to do well during the 90s but who knows what would happen if the two worked together now. Both Khan and Koirala are seasoned performers and if they were to be given a film with a challenging role there would be no stopping them.

The team at BizAsiaLive.com wishes Salman Khan a very happy birthday!
