Akshay Kumar & Priyadarshan to reunite for original comic-fantasy film
Akshay Kumar is to reunite with Priyadarshan for an original idea, despite earlier reports suggesting that the project could be a remake or a sequel.
The untitled film will be produced by Ekta Kapoor and goes on the floors in September 2024.
Priyadarshan said, “It is an original idea. The script is not mine; it was given to me by Ekta. It is not Bhool Bhulaiyaa, but it will be a horror comedy, in the fantasy horror zone, as horror can never be real. I would even call Bhool Bhulaiyaa a psychological thriller with humour. So, this one is not a sequel to any movie.”

Talking about his collaboration with Kumar, Priyadarshan said, “It’s been a while since Akshay and I worked together. The last film we did together was Khatta Meetha in 2010. There were several projects we discussed after that, but nothing concrete happened until now.”
