Sabras Radio’s Vinod Suri passes away

Veteran radio broadcaster, Vinod Suri, formerly of Sabras Radio has passed away.

The sad news was announced on Sabras Radio on-air and social media over the weekend. Suri was a part of the starting line-up when Sabras Radio launched in 1995. He left Sabras Radio three years ago due to personal commitments but was expected to return.

In a message being broadcast on Sabras Radio, the station said:

“With deepest regret, Sabras Radio is sad to announce the untimely passing away of our dearest colleague & veteran presenter Vinod Suri.

He suffered a heart attack on the evening of Friday 14th July and died shortly after. His funeral took place in India on Sunday 16th July.

Vinod Suri.. He may have gone but will forever live in our hearts.”

Suri is the second legendary personality from Sabras Radio to have passed away in the last year or so. Faruk Razak, who was also a part of Sabras Radio since it launched, died in March 2016.
