‘Pink’ director reveals Taapsee Pannu wasn’t the first choice

Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s ‘Pink’ (2016) impressed many with its subject, and intense acting given by Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu. While Pannu was loved by many for her role, Chowdhury reveals that she wasn’t the original choice for her character.

TOI reports Chowdhury saying, “I had narrated the story four and a half years back to director-producer friend Shoojit Sircar on-board a flight and he was hooked to the idea. A popular female actor had refused to do the character which was ultimately given to Taapsee Pannu. A film happens when everyone starts believing in the subject. We see so many things around us everyday, but do we react?”

Pannu was last seen grooving with Varun Dhawan in the hit sequel, ‘Judwaa 2’ (2017).
