New TV platform Freely launches without any South Asian channels

Newly launched platform, Freely has been introduced in the market without any South Asian TV channels.

The joint venture between the UK’s four public service broadcasters – the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, offers free live TV and on-demand content over broadband, without the requirement of a satellite dish or an aerial.

Beside the big terrestrial services, Arabic channels like Al Jazeera English (557), Al Jazeera Arabic (558), ASHARQ News (563), Alaraby Network (568) and Al Arabiya (564) are already broadcasting on the platform.

As most premium Asian TV channels like B4U, Sony TV, Utsav Plus, Colors and ZEE TV broadcast free-to-air, it remains to be seen if any sign up to the much in demand service.
