Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester launch date confirmed

Lyca Radio Network has confirmed that it will officially be launching Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester, later this month.

After teasing listeners for the past four months, the leading Asian radio brand confirmed that it will replace Asian Sound Radio to Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester from Monday 22nd April. The new station will carry a new strapline, with reference to Asian Sound Radio. The station’s strapline will be ‘A New Asian Sound For The North West of England’. It will also continue informing listeners that the station was previously known as Asian Sound Radio.

Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester will be available officially from Monday 22nd April, which will include local content from its Manchester studios. Some programmes will be networked with Lyca Radio in Greater London.

Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Media said, “We are super excited to be finally launching Lyca Radio in the North West of England region. Since we took over from the previous owners of Asian Sound Radio, we’ve been welcomed with open arms by listeners and advertisers. A huge thanks to everyone that has waited patiently for the launch. We are proud to be presenting a refreshing radio station to listeners in the North West of England fused with shows in Urdu, Hindi and English for various communities living in and around Greater Manchester. We will deliver content for all cultures and faiths, including five Islamic prayers per day daily. I want to extend a huge heartfelt thanks to the previous owner, Shafat for making this transition seamless as we embark on this new chapter and make history in the UK Asian radio industry.”

Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester will be available on 963AM/1377AM, DAB, smart speakers, ‘Lyca Radio’ mobile app, and LycaRadio.com.
